Plans and tiers explained

MTContext's tiers aren't really about how much you can do — they're about which capabilities are switched on. There are two that matter: trade (can it act on your account) and analytics (the portfolio-level tools). Everything else follows from those. This article explains the tiers by capability; for prices and how to subscribe, see Choosing a plan and subscribing. The two capabilities that define the tiers - trade — placing, modifying, and closing orders (always behind dry_run), plus the server-side equity guard and price alerts. Unlocked at Pro. - analytics — pair correlation, portfolio risk summaries, currency-strength ranking, market news, retail sentiment, and explain_trade coaching. Unlocked at Team. Tier by tier Free — read-only. Live prices, bars, account state, all sixteen technical indicators, risk-based lot sizing (calculate_lot_size), and a trade journal up to 100 entries. No trading, no advanced analytics. Genuinely useful, and the safest way to explore. Pro — adds the trade capability. Everything in Free, plus placing and managing orders, the equity guard, and alerts. Includes 1 terminal seat (expandable to 5). Team — adds the analytics capability. Everything in Pro, plus correlation, risk summaries, currency strength, news, sentiment, and coaching. Includes 5 terminal seats (expandable to 15). Enterprise — adds strategy backtesting and the highest alert limits, for larger deployments. How the gating actually behaves Capabilities are enforced server-side. If your key calls a tool above your tier, you get a 403 Forbidden — the key is valid, it just isn't entitled to that tool. When your client lists tools, it shows the set your tier includes, so you generally see only what you can use. (See Auth errors and expired tokens if a 403 surprises you.) Which tier is right? - Only reading and analysing? Free is enough. - Want the AI to place and manage trades? Pro. - Need portfolio analytics, multiple terminals, or coaching? Team. Next steps For pricing, seats, trials, and the subscribe flow, see Choosing a plan and subscribing. To change tiers later, see Upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling. Compare plans at mtcontext.com.

Upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling

Changing your plan is self-service from the dashboard. Whether you're moving up a tier, trimming seats, switching billing period, or cancelling, this article covers what happens and the one thing to watch on downgrades. Upgrading or changing your plan From your dashboard you can change tier (Pro ↔ Team), adjust add-on seats, or switch between monthly and annual billing. The change applies immediately — your tier and seat count update right away — and Stripe handles proration automatically, so you're only charged the difference for the time remaining in your period. Downgrading — the one gotcha You can't reduce your seat count below the number of terminals you're actively using. If you try to downgrade a tier or remove seats while more terminal keys are connected than the new limit allows, the change is rejected (a "seats in use" error) until you free up enough seats first. Revoke the terminal keys you no longer need — see Rotating or revoking a terminal key — then retry the downgrade. Aside from that guard, downgrades work the same way as upgrades, with proration applied. Switching monthly ↔ annual You can move between monthly and annual billing from the same controls. Annual works out to roughly two months free versus paying monthly, so it's usually the cheaper choice if you're staying on. Cancelling To cancel, open the Stripe Customer Portal from your dashboard billing page. From there you can cancel the subscription; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, after which the account returns to the free (read-only) tier — your terminal keys and data remain, they're just limited to free-tier capabilities. Managing payment method The same Stripe Customer Portal is where you update your card and billing details. See Finding invoices and receipts for pulling past invoices from the same place. Finding invoices and receipts

Need an invoice for expenses or your records? MTContext billing runs on Stripe, so your full invoice and receipt history lives in the Stripe Customer Portal, which you open from your dashboard. Where to find them 1. Log in to your dashboard. 2. Go to the billing section and open the Customer Portal (the "Manage billing" link). 3. In the portal, open Invoice history — every charge is listed there, and you can download each as a PDF invoice or receipt. What you'll find in the portal - Downloadable PDF invoices for every payment. - Receipts for completed charges. - Your current plan and next billing date. - Controls to update your payment method and billing address. Because invoices are generated by Stripe, they include the standard fields most finance teams expect (invoice number, dates, amounts, and tax where applicable). Getting a proper company invoice If you need your company name, address, or a VAT/tax ID on the invoice, set those billing details in the Customer Portal before (or at) your next charge — Stripe puts them on subsequent invoices. Already-issued invoices generally can't be edited after the fact, so update the details ahead of your next billing date. Email receipts Stripe can also email a receipt for each payment to the address on your account. If you're not receiving them, check the email tied to your MTContext account and your spam folder. Next steps To change what you're billed for, see Upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling. Open your billing portal from mtcontext.com/dashboard.
